Enjoyed that, thanks
Might be colourised but looks like the main colour of 1950's London was still grey
Not a petrol head at all but loved the cars

I turned down the volume on the video and played this as an accompaniment:

Which was surprisingly nice.

Briano - Not really mate. More a Dog and Duck man or the Toucan on Carlilse Street, Soho Soho (Now gone) The Blue Posts in Broadwick Street, Bar du Marche on Berwick Street, etc etc.

Very interesting that the pubs you would have presumed to be so old like The Pillars Of Hercules and The Three Greyhounds were all called something different back then.

Also that Wimpy has ALWAYS been a hamburger bar from those days to this. It was a Joe's Diner for years and now it's a 5 Guys. 5 guys means something completely different in Old Compton St now.

Beware if a pal ever asks if you fancy a bit of 5 guys on Old Compton street now. You'll be limping for a month.

Some of you cunts need to give over.

I like to let my imagination run riot and can picture the Thames flooding 2 miles wide where Parliament stands today.

Was only a blink of the eye away in geological time that this was happening.

Lovely to see Soho like that.

Shocking amount of double parking going on then.

How did that film get made with such an alarming absence of diversity on display. For you young 'uns there was a time when London didn't feel like a foreign country to Englishmen.

Re: 1959 dash cam ride through London- colourised and 60fps
Starts in Old Compton Street, turn into Frith Street, passed what became a print shop I ran on the corner of Bateman Street opposite the iconic Dog and Duck pub. Into and around Soho Square down Greek Street and back into Old Compton Street.

You will Notice the sign for 20th Century Fox at the bottom of Soho Square, could well have had something to do with them.

Thanks for posting, trippy and bizarre

Re: 1959 dash cam ride through London- colourised and 60fps
They didn't do a good job on colourising the people - I didn't see a single black man.

How can we have lived in peace & harmony back then if there were no people of colour to harmonize peacefully with?

I'm calling racist fake news.

It was obviously a film studio based in Old Compton St testing out a new camera.

Cheers for that.

Wish they'd gone a bit of a different route after going round Soho Square but enjoyable none the less.

Surprisingly little has changed yet everything HAS changed but only on the surface of things.
